The Times Facts CD by Jor-Shera Production is an effective tool for teaching math multiplication facts. After teaching all the elementary grades (kindergarten to fifth) I know it’s a challenge to get kids to memorize math facts at any level. I am always trying to find fun ways to teach math facts and I would use this tool when trying to get students to learn their multiplication facts.

There are several reasons why the Times Facts music is effective. First, it has some catchy phrases that will help kids easily remember their facts; including, “One times anything is the same thing.” Second, I teach in a school where most of the students are from Mexico and this appeals to students of various ethnicities with the various music genres. This CD has rap, pop, rhythm and blues, Caribbean, and boogie. Third, I can really see my students getting into this music and not even realizing they are memorizing their math facts. I would suggest to teachers to have their students look at their times tables and make up motions to help them learn their multiplication facts to 12 with this CD. They may also want to use it as a center activity.
